Insurance Contact List - 9/25/09
We have compiled a contact list including the names, phone numbers and addresses of insurance providers included in the COMPA benefit package. The contact list is available for download below:
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
COMPA has contracted with Outcomes, Inc., to provide year-round employee assistance services. Employees and household family members may utilize up to five sessions per situation, at no cost to the employee. Counselors are available in the northern New Mexico locations of Santa Fe, Los Alamos, and Espanola. All visits are strictly confidential. COMPA never knows who uses EAP. Outcomes publishes monthly newsletters; please pick one up if you happen to be in the COMPA office.

Benefit Fair - 9/10/09

Junior Achievement of New Mexico - Updated 9/9/09
COMPA Industries has been an active participant in Junior Achievement for over 5 years, and we are extremely proud of the hours we devote to classroom participation.
"Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. JA's unique approach allows volunteers from the community to deliver our curriculum while sharing their experiences with students."
2009 Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon: Chile Bowl
COMPA is sponsoring 2 teams for the Junior Achievement's Chile Bowl to be held Saturday, October 17th. We need a total of ten employees to register (5 people per team), and registration fees will be paid by COMPA. Call the Albuquerque COMPA office at (505) 843-8421 if you would like to register or have any questions. The event will occur:

Raffle Tickets Now Available
We are now selling raffle tickets to benefit Junior Achievement and would like to encourage anyone who wants one to call or come by our office. The donations are $5.00 each, for a chance to with an $800.00 BEST BUY GIFT CARD. Drawing will be held on September 27th, 20009.
Spot Award Request Form - 9/8/09
A Spot Award is a monetary award designed to grant “immediate” recognition to individuals for their day-to-day extra efforts and contributions.
The Spot Awards Program allows supervisors and other individuals to grant employees immediate monetary recognition for extra efforts that warrant small awards. The Spot Award instruction sheet and form is included below:

401k One on One Info Sessions: Update - 8/27/09
Additional one-on-one meetings with the 401(k) representatives in Los Alamos will be available in the weeks to come. If you have questions regarding your 401(k) and were unable to attend the previous information sessions please take advantage of this opportunity. The goal of these meetings is to answer any questions you may have regarding the 401(k) program.
Appointment times are available both days between 9:00am and 5:00pm. If more time for appointments is necessary, future dates will be arranged.

LANL Wellness Center Available - 8/24/09
Please note: All COMPA employees on assignment at LANL are eligible to utilize the Wellness Center.
The Wellness Center is a great facility that offers a variety of aerobic equipment, weight machines and free weights. They also provide health and fitness educational classes and exercise programs.
It is free to you as a contract employee at LANL!!
If interested, here is what you need to do.
1. Stop by the wellness center for one of the 30 minute orientation sessions. There are three separate sessions each Wednesday at 9:00 am, 2:00 pm and 5:30 pm
2. Tell them you are a COMPA employee and show them your badge
3. In the orientation class you will be shown a video, and given a tour of the facility
4. You will need to arrive 10 minutes early to fill out some paperwork
5. After that you are set to go and get fit.
The current hours of operation are:
Monday – Thursday 5:30 am to 7:30pm
Friday 5:30 am to 6:00 pm
Go ahead and take advantage of this opportunity on your lunch hour or before or after work to maintain and improve your health.

EAP: Always There to Help
In today's busy world, there are more pressures on employees and their families than every before; pressures affecting our personal lives, family relationships, health, or job performance. When this happens to COMPA employees, they can turn to the Employee Assistance Program for support.
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a custom-tailored program that provides confidential, professional assistance to employees and their family members who are experiencing personal or work-related problems.
EAP provides counseling services, as well as 24/7 crisis telephone access. Referrals to other professional services can also be provided by the EAP.
COMPA will be hosting an open house to provide information on the EAP program. The event will be help at the COMPA Los Alamos Office during the following times:

EAP Services are voluntary and free to employees and their family members. Employees or family members simply have to call the EAP to schedule an appointment.
Local counselors are available in the Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Los Alamos area.
